Flat edge circular cutter is a commonly used type of cutting tool in the industrial cutting field. With its flat cutting edge and rotating cutting characteristics, it is suitable for various soft and hard material processing scenarios. Its core cutting methods and application features are as follows:
1. High speed rotating rolling cutting type
This is the most mainstream cutting method for flat edged circular knives. The cutting tool is driven by a motor to achieve high-speed rotation, while cooperating with a feed mechanism to push the cutting body or the material to be cut to make relative motion, using the shear force of the rotating blade edge to achieve material separation. During the cutting process, the flat edge has a small contact surface with the material, resulting in low friction and effectively avoiding material adhesion and burrs. This method is widely used in the continuous cutting of flexible coiled materials such as leather, cloth, paper and film, as well as the cutting of hard materials such as metal sheet and foam plate, and is commonly used in textile, printing and packaging, sheet metal processing and other industries.
2. Constant speed pressure cutting type
Suitable for materials with large thickness or high hardness (such as rubber blocks, plastic sheets, corrugated cardboard). The flat mouth circular knife rotates at a fixed speed, and the external pressure device uniformly presses the material towards the blade, completing the cutting through the composite effect of "rotating shear+pressure feed". Compared with the rolling cutting type, the pressure cutting type requires greater pressure output and longer contact time between the tool and the material. It requires a flat edged circular knife with higher blade hardness and wear resistance, and is mostly used in industrial component processing, building material cutting, and other scenarios.
3. Floating follow-up cutting type
For materials with uneven or flexible surfaces that are prone to deformation, such as non-woven fabrics, foam, and composite materials. The flat edged circular knife is equipped with a floating adjustment mechanism, which can automatically adjust the height and pressure of the tool according to the surface undulations of the material during cutting, ensuring that the cutting edge always fits the material and avoiding problems such as poor cutting or excessive cutting. This method can significantly improve the cutting accuracy of irregular materials or workpieces, and is commonly used in high-precision industrial fields such as automotive interior parts processing and new energy battery separator cutting.
4. Reciprocating rotary cutting
The flat mouth circular knife performs reciprocating linear motion along a set trajectory while rotating, suitable for continuous cutting of long and narrow workpieces or cutting of irregular contours. For example, in pipe cutting and profile processing, the cutting tool can complete the fixed length cutting of the pipe in one go through the linkage action of "rotating shear+reciprocating feed", and the incision is flat and free of burrs, without the need for subsequent polishing treatment, improving industrial production efficiency.
